It's not a very intelligent decision to buy electronics from outside India or Exclusive e commerce sites. Here are the reasons why ...
Any smartphone is like an investment. You pay around 10 to 50k for this luxury. We buy phones after seeing looks, features and price. If anyone is too concered, he will look for warranty. But is it sufficient ? What about after sales service ? I recentlu bought one phone from #Flipkart made by #Asus. Features were awesome, I got a phone powered by Intel Processor with 2GB ram that too for 9,999. Nice deal, ah . Phone worked well and recently the fell from my hand and now it's screen is broken. As most of the mobile phone manufacturer #Asus also dont take mobile phone's screen in warranty. When I asked for paid replacement they said it will cost around Rs4,800. So just for changing the screen of a Rs 9,999.00 phone I have to spend an amount which is just half of the selling price. Then I went to the local mechanis looking for it's screen but they said they have not heard of the name of the company. Had it been any renowned old company phone I would have easily got the screen maximum by Rs 2000. Now I dnt want to throw my new phone but I cant use it either. Getting it repaired is not sounding wise. Feeling like trapped in the net of e commerce shopping.
I also bought one external Hard Disk made by #Transcend from #Snapdeal. It was a cool 1 TB hard disk but just in one month it got crashed and couldn't be detected by PC. All important data is lost. I went Nehru place looking for warranty but the googled address was wrong. Person sitting at helpdesk said they dont provide service for Transcend customer anymore. When I inquired about the new service center he said he dont have any idea about it. #Transcend neither has any section called Service center on its now it has any address of the service centers in Delhion its website.
Finally I am Feeling like being cheated. All my data lost, time lost and my hard earned money lost and I cant do anything about it.
